<p>A piezoelectric liquid gauging device, particularly for a motor vehicle fuel tank, including piezoelectric means (40) for transmitting an acoustic wave into a liquid (20) and sensing the wave in order to determine the distance travelled in the liquid (20), on the basis of the time lag between the transmission and reception times. Said system comprises two separate active piezoelectric portions (40) of a single piezoelectric plate (40) securely mounted in the tank to be measured. Said portions transmit acoustic waves towards a reference obstacle (50) and towards the surface (22) of the liquid to be gauged, respectively.</p> |
