Compact plant comminuting and separating solid and liquid components of bio-wastes to produce bio-gas

A plant comminutes and separates solid and liquid components of bio-waste, in stages, which follow. A first sieve (1) is fitted over an open-topped vessel (3). A second sieve (5) with smaller mesh, is located ahead of the fluid outlet opening (6). This sieve is preceded by a rotary comminuter (4). In the peripheral zone of this comminuter, there is a second withdrawal opening (14) for solids. Also claimed is the method of comminution and separation of solids and liquids. A fraction comprising solid particles and liquid is sieved, passing up to 70 mm mesh. The fraction is mixed and the solid particles are comminuted by the rotary cutter wheel.
