The material to be cut (2) is produced with a bonding agent and is not yet set. The material is at least partly separated with or without moulding and or compacting at the cutting edges and or with regulated or changeable cutting pressure. The cutter has a drive mechanism (1) and a movable structural element (3) transmitting the cutting force to the unset tile or brick material by means of a blade or wire. At least one of the structural elements is in the form of a centrifugal mass (4) or is connected to an extra structural element in the form of a centrifugal mass (5). The centrifugal mass is produced with liquid (7) poured into a hollow body (6).
