Etching agent used in production of circuit boards

Etching agent comprises a main component containing a 1st compound made of oxyacids or their derivatives of formula: XOm(OH)n or HnXOm+n (where X = central atom; m = 0 or above; and n = 1 or above), and a 2nd compound made of peroxides and their derivatives, and an auxiliary component containing an azol and a halogen. Also claimed are: (a) the production of circuit boards; and (b) a process for roughening a copper surface. Preferably m = 2 or above. (m+n) = 4 or above. Before roughening, degreasing and pre-immersion are carried out.
