The occupancy method involves issuing tickets from parking machines located on a park. At regular periods of time data is relayed to a central processor that estimates the occupation of the car park at different times. The data is transmitted back to displays at the car park entrances. The system may be used with multiple car park areas coupled to a central computer. The parking machines have a memory which is interrogated by the processor. The memory contains information related to parking spaces availability on a real time basis.
