The electrical fitting comprises a hollow base (13) which is arranged at the back to be fitted to a supporting peg which is attached to a wall. The base is rectangular with a bottom panel (18) and side walls, and a removable front cover (23). This defines a space (25) within which electrical components may be mounted. The cover plate (23) is provided with an elastically deformable central peg (27), projecting at right angles to the surface of the plate. This is received in a corresponding socket (28) in the central section of the hollow base. The peg has barbed teeth which ensure that it is readily fitted into the base unit, whilst not being easily removed.
