<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto changer provided with a control means for surely controlling the information specific to plural cartridges and quickly and surely receiving information between external equipments. SOLUTION: A horizontal carrying part 38 for carrying the cartridge PCR is provided in a movable table 36 ascending and descending opposing to plural slots 26 capable of housing a recording and reproducing device 4 and plural cartridges PCR. Photo interrupters PD1-PD3 detecting the state of light protecting mechanisms 12-18 of the cartridge PCR are provided in the horizontal carrying part 38, and a media hole detecting sensor MS detecting the existance of media holes 20, 22 of the cartridge PCR is provided in the upper side of the photo interrupter. The information specific to each cartridge is controlled by storing the specific information of each cartridge PCR obtained with these detecting means PD1-PD3, MS into the storage zone corresponding to the place of the slot housing the cartridge PCR.</p> |
