PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily instruct an area, which becomes an adjusting object, and to execute prescribed image adjustment only to the instructed area. SOLUTION: Concerning inputted image data, an area instructing part 2 roughly instructs the contour of the prescribed desired area to perform the image adjustment. An area specifying part 4 roughly specifies the roughly instructed prescribed area. A multilevel mask M1 to gradually rise at the peripheral edge part of the prescribed area is prepared. Next, concerning the respective attribute parameters of image data, a feature amount recognizing part 5 calculates histograms and based on any histogram for more effectively separating this prescribed area, a multilevel mask M2i based on a feature amount is prepared. According to an image adjusting instruction, a control gain calculating part 7 calculates a control gain G. Inside the area specified by these multilevel masks M1 and M2i, an image processing part 10 executes the prescribed image adjustment to the section instructed by this image adjusting instruction with this control gain G. |
