PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To possess the description spelled in a foreign language through simple operation even when the description spelled in the foreign language such as an English word can not be known. SOLUTION: The spelling data of KANA description are inputted by the key operation of a key input part 2, and the spelling data of English description stored corresponding to these spelling data of KANA description are retrieved from a DB 6 for English spelling retrieval. When these spelling data can be detected as a result, the respective data of phonetic symbol, part of speech and meaning relatively stored with these spelling data of English description as an index word are read out of a English dictionary DB 5 and these data are displayed on a display part 3. |
