PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the charge control method and device of a secondary battery for avoiding an erroneous excessive charging or an erroneous insufficient charging for an excessively discharged battery in a re-charging process easily and for achieving a required charge state efficiently. SOLUTION: A charge control device has a charger body 1 for charging a secondary battery 2 with a constant current, a battery voltage detection means 3 for detecting a charge voltage due to charge progress by the charger body 1, a charge control means 4 for stopping and controlling charge current when a voltage decreases by a predetermined value for the maximum value of the battery voltage due to the above charge progress, and an operation suppression means 5 for setting the non-operation time of the charge control means 4 relatively longer when the voltage of the battery to be charged is less than a reference set value and relatively shortly when the battery voltage is equal to or more than a reference setting value. Then, after a setting time elapses, the operation suppression of the charge control means 5 is canceled when a predetermined value for the charge voltage maximum value decreases, thus stopping a charge current. |
