PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembly by installing a locking device locking a transmission device to the current position, and a longitudinal locking means holding a select lever in a predetermined position of a first gear shift passage, and making up both these elements so as to have the same working direction. SOLUTION: A select device 1 to be connected to a control slide 3 of an automatic transmission 4 is equipped with a select lever 5 and a transmission device 7 connected to a Bowden cable 2, while it is provided with a locking device 9 and a longitudinal locking means 10 as well. This longitudinal locking means 10 holds the select lever 5 at a position in a gear shift passage 12 in linkage with a guide slot 11, energizing a slide 17, consisting of a part of the transmission device 7, of the locking device 9 to the side of this guide slot 11 by dint of a spring. In this constitution, when the transmission device 7 performs its turning motion and thereby the slide 17 is shifted in the radial direction, a projecting part 21 installed in a slide 20 of the longitudinal locking means 10 is so designed as to act on the slide 17. |
