PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the out-of synchronism between a master shaft mechanical operating section and a slave shaft mechanical operating section by monitoring the relative position (distance between zero phases) between the operating sections by using the zero-phase signal of an incremental encoder. SOLUTION: The phase differenceθz (distance between zero phases) between a master shaft mechanical operating section and a slave shaft mechanical operating section is detected by counting pulse signals from a two-phase incremental encoder 9 during a period from the detection of a master-side zero phase to the detection of a slave-side zero phase, and inputted to a comparator 13. When the phase differenceθz (distance between zero phases) changes during synchronous operation and exceeds a fixed amount, a correction relay Ry is turned on and the speed data for sending the variationΔθz to a slave driving section is computed so as to correct the drift of synchronization between the operating sections. Therefore, the drift of synchronization can be detected and corrected automatically without stopping a printing machine even when the drift of synchronization occurs due to the erroneous counting of the pulse signals.
