PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a Cu-zeolite base catalyst small in the deterioration of activation even in exposed in a high temp. engine exhaust gas for a long time, provided with a high heat resistance and durability and capable of being practically used. SOLUTION: In producing a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas composed of an inorganic material containing a copper component, a molybdenum component and/or a thngsten component and consisting essentially of a porous crystalline aluminosilicate (zelorite), (1) the copper component, the molybdenum component and/or the tungsten component are carried on the zeolite by using an aq. solution containing the copper component, the molybdenum component and/or tungsten component and adjusted to pH 7-12, or (2) a 1st process for making the molybdenum component and/or the tungsten component carried on the zeolite by using an aq. solution containing the molybdenum component and/or the tungsten component and adjusted to pH 7-12 and a 2nd process for making the copper component carried of the molybdenum and/or tungsten- carrying zeolite obtained in the 1st process are provided. |
