PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data processor for operating pixel density conversion and error diffusion processing, without increasing memory capacity. SOLUTION: A half-tone part 7 calculates the error data for each pixel to be stored in an error memory 8, according to the conversion ratio of pixel density in a pixel-density converting part 4 for the multilevel data of inputted pixels worth one line. Then, when the conversion ratio of the pixel density is less than '1', the half-tone part 7 calculates the error data for each pixel and stores the arithmetic result in the error memory 8. On the other hand, when the conversion ratio of the pixel density is more than '1', the half-tone part 7 calculates the average of the errors for every adjacently-inputted two pixels and stores the arithmetic result in the error memory 8. |
