<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To straighten assist gas flow by mounting a metal mesh plate to the tip of an assist gas nozzle for laser beam welding. SOLUTION: A gas supply pipe 4 is connected to the rear end of a nozzle body 2 as the center of an assist gas nozzle 1 via a screwed adapter 3 and a pipe shaped nozzle tip 5 is fixed to the tip of nozzle body 2, further, a discoid metal made mesh plate 6 (300-400 mesh) as flow straightening means is mounted to the tip of nozzle tip 5 via a screwed ring cap 7. The assist gas flow is straightened by the mesh plate 6 as passing though therein. The assist gas nozzle 1 is fixed/supported so as to have an angle, for example, 60 deg. to the radiating direction of laser beam B from a laser beam machining head 8 to a work W. Further, it is adjusted that the axis of assist gas nozzle 1 coincides with a laser beam irradiation point P on the work W.</p> |
