<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of the rigidity and the strength of a shaft by eliminating the need for grinding fiber of the part of a laminate body impairing the characteristic of the shaft when grinding the shaft in the finishing thereof. SOLUTION: In a golf head which has a head 2 at one end of a pipe-shaped shaft 1 comprising a laminate body 7 of a plurality of fiber-reinforced resin layers and a grip 3 at the other end thereof separately, the shaft 1 has one outer layer 8 comprising a similar fiber-reinforced resin layer on the perimeter of the laminate body 7 and a spiral groove 4 is formed in the outer layer 8 with a depth thereof ranging 3-5 mm, not exceeding the thickness of the outer layer 8.</p> |
