PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material excellent in the light fastness of an unprinted part. SOLUTION: In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer forming a color by heat is directly or indirectly provided on a support, the thermal recording layer is present between two oxygen barrier layers each having a basis wt. of 2-20g/m<2> and each of the oxygen barrier layer is composed of a polymeric substance with an oxygen transmission coefficient of 0.5×10<-10> cm<3> .cm/cm<2> .sec.cmHg. Or, an oxygen barrier layer mainly composed of a polymeric substance is provided on the surface of the support to form a laminated sheet with oxygen transmissivity of 1000cm<3> /m<2> .24hr.atm or less and a thermal recording layer is provided on the surface of the provided on the surface of the oxygen barrier layer of the laminated sheet or on the rear surface of the support and, further, other oxygen barrier layer is provided on the surface of the thermal recording layer to obtain a thermal recording material wherein the thermal recording layer is held between two oxygen barrier layers and the oxygen transmissivity of the thermal recording material is set a value obtained by multiplying the oxygen transmissivity of the laminated sheet by 0.5 or less. |
