PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the volume of air sucked into a suction port to increase cooling or heating efficiency and prevent the suction port from sucking indoor foreign matters upon resting time by a method wherein the suction port is opened by a plurality of suction grille means with respectively different angles. SOLUTION: Follower pinions 70 are attached respectively to the supporting shafts 52 of a suction grille means 50 in the order of magnitude of gear ratio so that the pinions, installed at the lower side, are provided with a smaller gear ratio. When a power supply is thrown and a driving pinion 90 is rotated to lower a rack 80, the follower pinions 70 are turned and the suction grille means 50 is pivoted upward to open a suction port. In this case, the follower pinions 70, mounted at upper part, are turned slowly while the same, mounted at the lower part, is turned quickly and, accordingly, the range of opening angle of the suction grille means 50 becomes narrow in a case when the slowly turned pinion is mounted while the range is widened when the quickly turned pinion is mounted. According to this method, the amount of indoor air, sucked through the suction port, becomes bigger in the lower side than that in the upper side whereby the distribution of sucking amount of indoor air with respect to the total area of the suction port becomes uniform and cooling or heating efficiency can be increased. |
