Insulating layer for gluing coatings to a floors, walls and ceilings

The layer (2) for insulating and gluing coatings to flat surfaces consists of an insulating material with a number of holes (3) which will be filled with glue. The holes (4) are oblong and arranged parallel to each other but offset. The insulating layer may be flexible or rigid and is made of reticulated or extruded polymer foam. It is provided in strips or rolls. One or both sides are self adhesive. The insulating layer is laid, the holes filled with glue and the coating placed over the insulating layer.
