摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electron emission element with its structure free of horizontal electron leaping by disposing electrodes to be positively and negatively charged alternately at constant intervals in a concentric circle and concentric quadrate or the like and forming pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: For an electron emission element 40, electrodes 42 and 43 are in the concentric circle, concentric quadrate, or concentric polygon, and an electron emission film 44 is formed on surfaces of these electrons 42 and 43. According to this wiring, for one concentric columnar electrode 43, a positive potential is charged from a power source 33 to a grounding potential, and for the other concentric circular electrode, a negative voltage is charged from a power source 31. A voltage between an anode and a cathode is applied by a power source 32 between the electron emission element 40 and an opposite substrate 20. When a voltage is charged between the electron emission films 44 by means of the concentric circular electrodes 42 and 43, electron emission occurs at a film surface portion of the electron emission film 44. In this electron emission element 40, the electrode 42 to be negatively charged with a circumferential portion of the concentric circle of the electrode is preferably disposed. Thus, electron emission is made at a center of the pixel electrode.</p>
