PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimum output by taking saturated voltage fluctuation caused by fluctuation in a dark current into account to control a charge storage time of a charge storage photoelectric conversion element array depending on a corrected time series signal. SOLUTION: An image sensor(IMS) group 3 in, e.g. a multi-point range finding system provides the output of the IMS corresponding to a focus detection area selected based on a signal from a focus detection area changeover section 8. A computing element 4 conducts an arithmetic operation to driven an objective lens 1 for focusing via a drive control section 6 and a motor 7. Furthermore, the computing element 4 conducts an AGC operation for focus detection based on an output of the IMS corresponding to a focus detection area selected from the IMS group 3, a signal from the focus detection area changeover section 8, and information relating to the IMS corresponding to the detection area selected from a storage section 5. That is, data relating to the storage time of the selected IMS in a succeeding focus detection and an amplification factor of an amplifier AMP are calculated. |
