摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate switching elements, such as FETs, and to enhance image reproducibility by arranging the switching elements in thin films and arranging conductive films under these thin films. SOLUTION: Liquid crystals 50 are sealed between a single crystal silicon substrate 41 and a counter substrate 48 made of nonalkaline glass. The substrate 41 of the parts 51 corresponding to the effective pixel parts of the display device are removed by anisotropic etching and the optical transparent thin films 42 consisting of SiO2 , formed on the substrate 41 are exposed. Thinfilm transistors (TFTs) which are the switching transistors are formed by each pixel in the thin films 42. Polyaniline 52 of a conductive semiconductor grade is formed on the exposed surface of the thin films 42 on the side opposite to the liquid crystals 50 over the entire surface of a liquid crystal cell 60. The conductive films 52 are electrically connected to an external power source 56 by lead wires 55.</p>
