<p>A telephone apparatus, for connection to an exchange line (6) and a plurality of handsets (3a, 3b) is arranged such that the handsets may each initiate an outward call over the exchange line (6) by transmission of dialled digits, and the apparatus includes means (31) for identifying the handset initiating a call, and means (32) for generating additional dialling digits indicative of the handset (3a, 3b) which initiated the call. This allows the maker of the call to be identified, allowing services such as individual billing, call blocking, etc., to operate without any special input by the users.</p> |
