<p>A device for a reverse vending apparatus, which has equipment for transporting containers, e.g., cans made of glass, plastic, wood or metal, or bottles of glass or plastic, in a lying position past a detector station for producing characteristic data about a container, and means which on the basis of such data determines how the containers shall be handled thereafter, e.g., sorted out, compacted, further treated or recycled, and wherein at the downstream end of the detector station there is provided a belt or band-based conveyor (201) having a first rotatory roller unit (202) which has a stationary axis of rotation, a second rotatory roller unit (203) which is pivotally mounted in a tiltable holder (216), a motor (219) being operatively connected to the holder (216) for controllably tilting the holder in one direction or the other in a plane transverse to the conveyor (201) from a centre position wherein the axis of rotation (221) of the second roller unit is parallel to the axis of rotation (204) of the first roller unit. A plurality, e.g., four adjacently disposed, continuous elastic belts or bands (208-211) run in grooves (212-215) on the roller units. The detector station (100, 125) contains a control circuit (127) which on the basis of said data either actuates the motor (219) to tilt the holder a certain angle (α1; α2) to one side or the other to cause a container (B) of the type in question lying on the conveyor (201) to be tipped off this to a first (222) or second (223) exit, or causes the motor to keep the holder (216) still in said centre position, so that a container (B) of the type in question leaves the conveyor (201) at a third exit (224) downstream of the second roller unit (203). The roller units (202; 203) are preferably made having a double-cone configuration.</p> |
