The battery-operated light indicator has a switch and a light source, which is accommodated in a manually manipulatable lamp holder. A base (3) is provided in which the lamp holder (1) is movably insertable and is located manually rotatable. The non-tilt cross-sectional surface of the lampholder (2) with its large cross-sectional area forms a circular surface. The lamp holder can be a cylindrical section. The lampholder can have the shape of a sphere. The light source can be a laser light source. The lampholder and the base can be made of transparent material, preferably plexiglass. The base (3) is a cylinder section, which has a ring-shaped slot, a cylindrical recess (5) and/or spherical recess (6), which forms a bearing surface matched to the lampholder.
