PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary device for producing a rice ball or a roasted rice ball, capable of simply producing the rice ball maintained in the original shapes of rice grains to suitably contain air between the rice grains and having the same good taste as that of a rice ball made with hands, capable of preventing the burning of a hands due to not cooked rice, and also suitable for outdoor employment. SOLUTION: This device for producing a rice ball comprises a rice ball-receiving part 2 whose one surface is opened, a holding part comprising a holding piece 31 attached to the lower end of the rice ball-receiving part 2 and another holding piece pivotally attached to the holding piece 31 and a support shaft 6, a sliding piece capable of sliding along the inner surface of the rice ball-receiving part, and a rotation shaft 5 attached to the sliding piece. Therein, a coil spring is mounted on the support shaft 6 in the holding part, and pieces inwardly extended from places near to the lower ends of both the holding pieces 31 are disposed on both the holding pieces 31. Plural grooves are disposed on the piece extended from the another holding piece. A gear capable of being engaged with the grooves is inserted and attached to the rotation shaft 5, and the lower end of the rotation shaft 5 is rotatably inserted into the holding piece 31. |
