LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION EXCELLENT IN HYDROLYTIC STABILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil compsn. excellent in lubricity and hydrolytic stability and suitable for use particularly as a rolling oil or a cutting oil. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises a base oil comprising an animal or vegetable oil and a synthetic hydrocarbon oil as the essential components. The base oil includes palm oil, beef tallow, castor oil and oils obtained by refining such oils. The synthetic hydrocarbon oil includes an alkylnaphthalene, an alkylmethylnaphthalene and a poly-α-olefin. Usually 0.5 to 900 pts.wt. synthetic hydrocarbon oil is compounded with 100 pts.wt. base oil.
