PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color pigment that has clear color, excellent dispersibility, and high water and light resistance, and is useful for cosmetic compositions, etc., by making an inorganic crystalline material having specific fine pares adsorb a organic dye. SOLUTION: This color pigment is obtained by making (A) an inorganic crystalline material [for example, a material that has its electron diffraction or X-ray diffraction pattern of hexagonal type and d100 value of 20-100Åand further has chemical composition shown by the formula: Mx ly Si(1-y) O2 (M is a cation, such as Na, Ca, K, Mg or H, preferably Na or Ca; (x) and (y) are each 0-1) adsorb (B) an organic dye (preferably an acid dye), for example, in a quantity of 0.001-1g, preferably 0.05-0.2g, to lg of A. In particular, this color pigment is obtained, for example, by keeping component (A) in contact with a 0.001-10wt.% solution of component (B) at 80 deg.C or lower temperature for 1-120min by such a process as immersion, dropping in mixing, or mixing above a fluidized bed, then filtering the mixture, washing the thus obtained pigment, and drying the pigment at a temperature of 120 deg.C or below.
