PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease filter for a range hood fan by which an oil collection efficiency is higher in comparison with a conventional slot filter and noise at time of exhaust is reduced. SOLUTION: The grease filter for a range hood fan is formed into sandwich structure of three layers or four layers in which a sheet or two sheets of expanded metal a2 are interposed between two sheets of filters a1, a1. The filters al are formed into such structure that many slits are arranged side by side with a pitch of several millimeter on a metallic thin plate and also several lines of the slit line 2 are formed and many ventholes are provided by curving and tilting the whole of a tongue piece partitioned by mutual slits in the each slit line 2 in the prescribed direction. The expanded metal 2a is formed into mesh structure in which longitudinal dimension of a diamondshaped opening part 0 is <1.5mm and shortish dimension thereof is <0.75mm.
