PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an OSI terminal system to gain access with the same address even if a host which provides on-line services moves in the loosely coupled multi-center system. SOLUTION: The loosely coupled multi-center system 5 which consists of hosts 1 and 2 having communication processors 3 and file sharing devices 4 provide the on-line services (file transfer) for the OSI terminal 7 through a wide-area communication network 6. An address 'FTMI' characteristic of a service, etc., is set as a T selector (connection address) in the communication processor 3, and the correspondence to the host which actually provides the services is dynamically controlled in a T selector management table 31. An FTMI 26 of the host 2 stands by as a hot standby of an FTMI 16 in operation on the host 1, and hot standby monitor means 11 and 21 monitor each other and perform switching. The operation state transition of the FTMI 26 is confirmed by a network monitor means 22 and the management table 31 is updated through a T selector switching means 23. |
