The deposit module is connected to a safe (1) having a hole to allow entry of valuables. The module has a passage connecting the opening in the safe to a deposit chamber. The passage (11) has a mechanism to prevent removal of deposited item from the outside. The upper part of the passage has a retractable holder (13) that obscures the passage when it is closed, and the lower part of the passage has a mobile trap (14,15) that blocks the passage in the closed position and opens the passage in the open position. The holder and the trap are mechanically linked so when one is open the other is closed.
