Improved process for obtaining strontium salts and fertilizing derivatives in which a continuous exchange reaction is performed under counter-current conditions in two reaction steps, the first being the continuous reaction which yields technical grade strontium carbonate, the latter being the salt obtained by the direct reaction of ammonium carbonate in solution with purified celestite mineral, also known as strontium sulphate, and the second comprising the production of strontium salts through the intermediate step of producing strontium chloride. <IMAGE>
