摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a difference from being made in a focus detecting ability of a plurality of photoelectric conversion pixel trains by performing filter processing in accordance with pixel width converted to a scheduled focal plane to the output signal of a plurality of photoelectric conversion pixel trains having the different pixel width and arithmetically calculating the focusing state of a photographing lens. SOLUTION: An image sensor selection part 3 decides which is used, a 1st sensor or a 2nd sensor of an image sensor 2. The 1st or the 2nd sensor is selected according as the luminance of a subject is high or low. A filter processing part 4 calculates high frequency component cut filter data in selecting the 1st or the 2nd sensor. A reliability threshold setting part 6 decides a threshold used to decide reliability. A focus detection arithmetic calculation part 5 performs the focus detection arithmetic calculation and calculates the focusing state of the photographing lens 100, that is, the defocusing amount thereof. Whether the reliable defocusing amount is obtained or not is judged, and in the case it is reliable, operation is finished by regarding the detection as possible.
