This is a system of protecting electrical and electronic equipment against the effects of lightning and voltage surges, in two versions, single phase and three-phase. It consists of a set of choke coils LH in series with the power supply of the installation to be protected. A set of gas spark gaps D, one RC [resistance-capacitance] and another of varistors V. It has local alarms L1-L2 and remote alarms E1-E2 for indicating a fault in each of the aforesaid sets. An incoming transient voltage surge is absorbed via the different circuits of the system so that the output is within the tolerance limits of operation of the equipment to be protected. There are three levels of protection so that in the event of damage to one of them it is automatically disconnected, and the service of the installation to be protected is not interrupted. <IMAGE>
