The fuse protection device for interrupting a conducting connection, and has electrical input (12) and output (14) points with a conducting connecting bridge (12) arrangement for joining the input and output. The bridge consists, at least in part, of a material which is soluble in a liquid. The bridge is mounted so that it can be at least partially enclosed by a dissolving liquid, so that the enclosed part is destroyed and the conducting connection broken.
