<p>A hand-held device for measuring the amount of fluid present in a partially filled container includes a temperature sensitive means for determining the level of fluid present in the container and distance sensitive means for determining the height of this level above a predetermined datum level. A microprocessor is programmed with an algorithm into which the determined values can be entered together with values representative of the internal configuration and volume of the container, the device including a display for displaying the measured amount of fluid present in the container.</p> |
