The invention proposes a process and a device for cutting into sections preferably round bars, especially screw bolts, suitable also for gentle impact-free clipping of screws on the human skeleton in clinical operations, wherein at least two shearing blades (21, 22) are positioned transverse to the longitudinal axis of the bar at a separation point on the latter, at essentially opposite positions essentially in a radial plane, and are moved in relation to each other by a power drive mechanism.
