COOLING SYSTEM FOR SUBSTATION

A cooling system for a substation comprises a transformer body (1) provided with a water-cooled type cooler (2), a cooling medium circulating machine (5) for circulating a cooling medium (3), a cooling tower (7) for cooling water, a culvert (10), a cold accumulating reservoir (11) for storing a low temperature cooling water (14a) which cools the culvert (10), a refrigerating machine (12) for producing the low temperature cooling water, a cooling tower (13) for radiating heat from the refrigerating machine (12) and the like. The cooling system further comprises a pump (22) for pumping up the low temperature cooling water (14a), a flow regulating valve (23) for the low temperature cooling water (14a), a temperature detector (25) provided at the inlet of the water-cooled type cooler (2), and a piping (21) for conducting the low temperature cooling water (14a) to the inlet of the water-cooled type cooler (2). When the transformer body (1) is put in overload operation, the pump (22) supplies the low temperature cooling water (14a) to the cooling water inlet side of the water-cooled type cooler (2) to thereby prevent a temperature of a cooling water to the water-cooled type cooler (2) from excessively rising, thus suppressing temperature rise of a structure of a transformer to a certain value.
