PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the average output of an X-ray irradiation unit having a rotating X-ray tube by direct cooling of the rotating X-ray tube, and prevent the generation of unnecessary friction loss in a coolant. SOLUTION: An X-ray tube 1 has a vacuum casing 4 in which an anode 33 and a cathode 38 are connected and fixed, a coolant container 2 in which a coolant 42 is filled surrounds the X-ray tube 1, and the coolant container 2 is surrounded by a radiation protecting casing 3. The X-ray tube 1 and the coolant container 2 are supported so as to be capable of rotating to the radiation protecting easing 3, the X-ray tube 1 and the coolant container 2 are rotated on a rotating axis line with a driving means of the X-ray tube 1 and the coolant container 2 when an X-ray irradiation device is operated. Deflection devices 26, 35 are arranged in the radiation protecting casing 3 so as to be located in the position specified to the radiation protecting easing 3.
