The small bag is of porous material, having a single chamber accommodating the extractable material. A pair of inwards folds (10) are formed along the side edges, while the bag ends are sealed by welding. It is compressed by equipment outside the chamber and contained in the folds. Typically this consists of a thread running from a first weld seam through one of the folds to the other seam and from there via the other fold back to the first seam. The thread ends protrude from the first seam, labels being attached to them if desired.
