The frame has a thigh-support (3) hinging on it and to which a section (5) for the calves and feet is attached. The support is on a lifting mechanism (8) guided in the frame (1) and protruding upwards at the lifting point. A lever linkage (11,12) is coupled to the rear end of this mechanism and controls the lifting movements of the section (5). The linkage can incorporate a lever (12) sliding in a lengthwise guide (13) at the section underside, and supported on the bed-frame.
