PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus wherein a recording head is simply switched to a storing position and to a printing position in a main body case and a head face of the recording head can be simply and surely prevented from being dried by using a cap member. SOLUTION: When the lower end part of a movable frame 21 is partly moved to the lower limit position projected to the outside of a main body case 2, a recording head 15 of a recording mechanism is moved to a storing position in the main body case through a position switching mechanism 20 and a cap member 50 is brought into tight contact with the head face of the recording head 15. On the other hand, when the movable frame 21 is moved to the upper limit position where its approximately whole body is stored in the main body case 2, the recording head 15 is moved to a printing position through the position switching mechanism 20 and the cap member 50 is retreated from the head face of the recording head 15. |
