<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection of residual quantity of sheets in a sheet cassette and to reduce downtime of a image forming device. SOLUTION: This device is furnished with a plural number of paper feeding cassettes 100, a paper surface sensor 101 to detect upper surfaces of sheets in these cassettes and an encoder 104 to detect the number of rotation of a lifter motor 103 to lift an intermediate plate 102 in the paper feeding cassette. Consequently, residual quantity of the sheets in the paper feeding cassette 100 is detected by outputs of the paper surface sensor 101 and the encoder 104, and at the time of inputting an electric power source, the intermediate plate in this paper feeding cassette 100 is reset and controlled.</p> |
