Yoke for planetary gear starter e.g. for motor vehicle engine

The yoke (1) forms the inductor of a starter motor. A disc of a metal material is subjected to a cold-rolling process, to form the yoke. The centre of the disc is deburred to form a ring-shaped projecting sections (12b). This projects from an end face of the yoke aperture (12a) in axial direction of the starter output shaft, when the disc is fastened to the tool for cold rolling. An initial aperture is made in the disc, and the disc is clamped between two tools, so that a cylindrical convex section of the first tool can be inserted into the aperture and the cylindrical concave section of the second tool.
