The roller comprises a bolt (1), and outer race (4), and one or more thrust washers (5), together with a set of bearing rollers (3) and a seal between washer and race. The external diameter of the washer reduces in the direction of the bearing rollers, so as to form an enlarged space (6) between washer, race and rollers. The bolt can have a flange (2) tapering towards the rollers, forming a second such space. The ring and flange can form mating surfaces for outer curved sheet-metal rings (8,13) acting as seals, and a radial gap (9) can be formed between the washer or flange and its ring, on whose surface there can be a coating.
