The overhead line (1) essentially consists of a trolley wire (2) and a holding system (3). The trolley wire conducts the current and makes contact with the current collector of the electrical vehicle. The holding system (3) for the trolley wire is a braced framework or rigid rod shaped constructional elements (4, 5, 6). The holding system is built up from three rigid rod shaped constructional elements, arranged at a distance from each other, which are supported against each other, across rigid wen type constructional elements (70, 80, 90). The constructional elements (4, 5, 6) can be designed as rods or tubes.
