The cap has a peak and a strap-like width adjuster, which together with a head section defines a cap opening. A removable filler element (15) is fitted into the cap opening (28). The filler at least partially surrounds the width adjuster. It is clamped along an edge reinforcement of the semi-circular cut-out (7) at the back of the cap. The filler element is held in place by a hook-and-loop fastener (18). It consists at least partially of plastic or metal.
