Autoclave especially for use in sterilising surgical instruments

An autoclave for sterilising surgical instruments comprises a boiler which supplies steam to nozzles which spray into sterilising chamber(s), and removable trays on which the instruments are placed. Water can also be sprayed into the sterilising chambers. Also claimed is a tray (4) for use with the above autoclave.
