Fitting for installing fluorescent light tubes in parallel

The light fitting has a pair of identical units (2') each of which has a socket (3') that receives the contacts of a fluorescent light tube. A similar arrangement is used for the other ends of the tubes. The two units are mechanically coupled together by a bridging section (6) that has profiled ends that engage in recesses in the units. The centre of the bridging section has a recess that is engaged by a hollow section tube (1') and this creates a rigid structure for fixing to a ceiling. The fitting may be used for more than two tubes.
