PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capacitate an AC electric vehicle to pass through an alternate section, where there is a large difference in electric power phase, without hindrance. SOLUTION: In this protector of an AC electric vehicle 4, when this vehicle 4 passes through an alternate section 2, where two feeder sections 1a and 1b different in substation a A and B each are butted with each other, a phase difference among AC powers from the substation feeding these feeder sections by a controller on the ground side is detected, and when this phase difference is compared with the reference value and there is a larger phase difference than the reference value, a main breaker opening command is transmitted to the onboard side by a grounder 3. When a pickup maker 5 received this main breaker opening command at the onboard side, a main breaker 8 is opened, interrupting an auxiliary circuit of the AC electric vehicle. With this, when this electric vehicle is passed through the alternate section, something wrong with a phase converter, a rotary machine or the like as well as deformation in a coil of a main transformer producible due to the phase difference in AC power at the substation in front and in rear of the alternate section are all prevented from occurring. |
